What our clients have to say
Another great session with my PT. As a time-poor executive, I have only added 30 minutes a few times a week to my routine. Working with Ty has significantly impacted my energy levels and focus. His personalised approach emphasises form and technique to reduce the risk of injury and has guided me to achieve my fitness goals. Thanks to the team, I feel healthier and happier than ever.

From the moment I walked in for my first physiotherapy session at Activate Health & Fitness, Stephen made me feel at ease. He is an active listener who is caring and friendly. Stephen helped me with some nagging pain and headaches, whilst ensuring I could remain active throughout. Stephen is a great fit for the team at Activate Health & Fitness

Activate Health & Fitness is a great personal training studio in the Brisbane CBD – professional and friendly. I’ve been training with Pat for 15+ years! Stephen is also an excellent Physiotherapist. He fixed my muscle strain and tightness in a couple of sessions and provided some easy take home exercises to speed up the healing.

FAQ
What is Physiotherapy?
Physiotherapists are qualified healthcare professionals who are experts in the structure of the human body and its movement. Using physical techniques, they help people affected by injury, disability, or illness to reduce pain and stiffness, improve movement and speed up the healing process.
Physiotherapists use a wide range of treatment methods to help restore movement and prevent the re-occurrence of injuries, including
- joint manipulation and mobilisation to reduce pain and stiffness
- soft tissue massage and dry needling
- exercise programs to strengthen muscles and improve mobility
- sports and kinesiology taping to stabilise injuries and aid muscle movement
When would I need to see a Physiotherapist?
There are many reasons you may choose to see a physiotherapist. Some of the more common reasons include:
- musculoskeletal disorders such as back pain, neck pain or arthritis
- sporting injuries such as muscle strains, or tendon, knee and shoulder injuries
- chronic pain management
- occupational or work-related injuries
- surgical pre and post-operative rehabilitation
- injury prevention
Do I need to be an athlete to see Activate HF's Physiotherapist?
Not at all. While our physiotherapists are highly experienced in the field of sports physio, they treat a wide range of conditions. Whether you’re an athlete recovering from a sports-related injury, an individual seeking relief from chronic pain, someone in need of post-operative rehabilitation, or looking to prevent injury, our physiotherapists have the knowledge and experience to guide you on your journey to recovery.
Do I need a referral from my doctor before starting Physiotherapy?
Physiotherapists are first contact practitioners, meaning you don’t need a referral from a doctor to see a physiotherapist. However, it is common for physiotherapists to work with other allied health professionals and medical practitioners to help you achieve the best possible outcome from your treatment.
Is Physiotherapy covered by private health insurance or Medicare?
Some people qualify for Medicare assisted physiotherapy, and in such cases a referral from your GP is needed for the Medicare rebate.
At Activate Health & Fitness, our physiotherapists are providers with all private health funds. Bring your private health fund card with you to your appointment and we can process your claim on the sport with HICAPS. You can check with your health fund to find out what rebate you are eligible for.
What should I wear to my appointment?
You should wear something comfortable that allows you to move around with ease. Please note that part of your treatment may involve exercise on the gym floor and therefore closed shoes (e.g. sports shoes, trainers) are recommended.
